We recently reunited with Luna Bay after her 31 days of transit from St. Thomas to Athens. It has felt great to be back on board. After 9 months, Luna Bay really feels like home to us now (that isn't to say we're looking forward to getting home at the end of June, we are!). Ryan, in particular, was excited to get back on Luna Bay.
Our first stop was just a short hop from the marina, Sounion Bay, with its Temple of Poseidon. Built in a strategically important location both for the military and for navigational/economic reasons, the temple was built in 444 B.C. high atop an outcropping stretching into the Mediterranean. It's remarkable enough by itself, but against the backdrop of the blue Mediterranean, it takes on another dimension!
We'll now head West into the Saronic Gulf, before turning East to the Cyclades, Dodecanese, and Turkey. Stay tuned for more!
Really spectacular to see these sights from a boat having been there more than 40 years ago with Britta. What a treat and enjoy your final days. Of course we are anxious to have you back on Starboard court.
