Making our way back from Turkey and the Dodecanese Islands of Greece toward Athens, where in a few days we would turn over Luna Bay for good, we made a stop in a very important place for Ryan: the island of Delos.
According to Greek mythology, Apollo and Artemis were born in the Sacred Lake in Delos, by a palm tree. While the lake is long gone, there is still a palm tree there, and Ryan paid a visit.
Delos is one of the most significant historical and mythological sites in Greece. The whole island is preserved as an archeological site, and you can see why. The place is covered with ancient ruins.
The best part, of course, is walking around and having Ryan tell you all about the temples and gathering places all around you, including which gods got along with whom, and giving you full color on the myths behind it all!
