Luna Bay is On The Way (back to the Med)

On the 12th we got the word it was time to load, so we pulled up next to a giant ship in Charlotte Amalie harbor, in St. Thomas. We secured everything above and below decks and got LB2 ready to load onto the ship that would take her back to the Mediterranean.

Here she is about to get lifted aboard.

It was a pretty amazing operation. The crane operator would hold the boat hovering above the deck while welders welded struts straight onto the deck of the ship to hold the boat.

It took a surprisingly little amount of time, and then she was all loaded:

The ship, named Slotergracht, has since been making its way across the Atlantic. As of publishing time, it was making its way into the Straights of Gibraltar. We've been following along on marinetraffic.com

Since we loaded a few days earlier than expected, we had a few extra days in the USVIs, and then Daddy went back to California for a week to do some sailing and working while the girls went to Italy! Stay tuned, our next posts will be about that. We rejoin LB2 in Athens, in early May, and then we have some more friends coming to visit. Can't wait!
