Well, we're not in the Caribbean anymore!
Narrow streets and deep fried pizza. Wait, what?! Deep. Fried. Pizza!! Who knew that the people that invented pizza were keeping this deep fried deliciousness from us?
Oh, and there was an educational component, as well, as the girls toured ancient Pompeii.
Kenning was particularly interested in the casts that were made from some of the people preserved in the ash after Vesuvius erupted. These unfortunate souls were essentially frozen in time for 2000 years until excavated, and when discovered, scientists could use a casting method to see who these people of Pompeii were in stunning detail.
Ryan loves mythology, so she was fascinated by the stories represented in frescoes that we so well preserved in the ash that you could still see the action.
And of course there are always a few moments of being silly!
