Sardinia So Far...

We crossed the straight between Corsica and Sardinia and have spent the last few days gunk-holing (the cruiser's word for going from protected cove/anchorage to the next) in and around the La Maddalena island group, just off the northern shore of the large island of Sardinia.

It was a great few days of swims and sunsets, and even a few kiting and winging sessions for Dad.

We also got to do an afternoon of tasting some of the local wines of Sardinia, the highlight of which was a beautiful afternoon at the Masone Mannu winery enjoying some Mediterranean cheeses and honey and sipping on delicious Vermentino and Cannonau, two local varietals that make incredible whites and reds, respectively. Our host was a very colorful and delightful winemaker named Martino, who grew up in Sardinia, left for the UK for nearly 20 years, and returned to his passion. Neat story.

Messing around in gunkholes.

I thought about Kenning on the 19th. I knew you were planning a day in Paris, but plans often change.and these pictures look as though it was fabulous. What luck. Anyway, Happy Birthday Kenning..
