On Boxing Day, one of the family boats busted out their two inflatable catamarans and we did a mini regatta for the kids. Home base was Luna Bay II, with all the families aboard enjoying bagels and coffee while teams rotated through boats. It was round robin format, with kids driving!
As you can see, there was some good action!
Ryan was adamant the night before that she did NOT want to sail, and it took a lot of coaxing to get her in the boat. But, of course, she loved it. True to form, she was chatting with everyone we raced against, asking them how their day was, and generally being a ham. For example, check out the salute in this video.
Unfortunately, Kenning refused to participate (there are times these days when she is very 13), so no pictures of her sailing, but these are some precious shots of Ryan from a fantastic day!
What a fun day! Inflatable catamarans? Who knew? Ryan did great and i hate seeing the other cat capsizing, but kudos to the photographer for capturing that. I have a feeling K K will be back in sailboats at some point as crew or helmsman
Those SmartKat's are absolutely incredible. I already put a request in to see how much they are. Adam do you approve of them? Could be a great addition to our Sprinter van arsenal.
