We struggled quite a bit in coming up with the name for this site. In fact, we probably asked you for ideas (or would have, if we had seen you). There were general names, movie references, names that used puns, names that looked weird written out, and everything in between. However, when it came down to it, we agreed that "Lowry Olympics" was the perfect name.
What are "the Lowry Olympics"? This is a saying that has been in the Lowry family for many years, referring to our preference to try to do way too many things in any time frame. What could be better than doing 4 things in one day? Why, doing 10, of course! Have a few minutes to spare? Actually magically arrive early for once? Then try to cram in one more event!!! What constitutes an event in the Lowry Olympics? Basically, anything - one more kite foiling run, one more errand, one more level on a video game... Anything that keeps us rushing from one thing to another and trying to squeeze every drop of marrow out of every minute of every day.
We hope this trip provides an opportunity to slow down and do a little less every once in a while. And, we are really looking forward to having a relatively open schedule. However, anyone who has ever met us or heard our plans knows that we will be performing our best Lowry Olympics to get the very most out of every minute of this experience!
